This blog, and in fact much of the site, has been moved to the new web site of Craig Holmes – www.craigholmes.com.

The actual blog has been moved to www.craigholmes.com/journal. This will cover all aspects of the commercial photography undertaken by Craig – from travel to architecture to restaurants.

If you could update any links you have, or RSS feeds, I would appreciate it.  Thanks for reading.  Craig

Fort Dunlop Birmingham

I have just completed a commission to photograph the interior of the recently converted Fort Dunlop building in Birmingham.  Urban Splash, the developers, have done a great job.

Baskerville House Photography Quote

A year or so ago, I undertook the photography during the restoration and renovation of Baskerville House in Birmingham.  One of the key buildings in the city.  This quote is from the head of Knight Frank in Birmingham.  I will post some actual photographs shortly.

RIBA Photograph of Selfridges

The above photograph has just been selected by RIBA to highlight the West Midlands aspect of its operations.  The photograph has been selected from the Images of Birmingham Photo Library.

The Cube site

This is fast becoming the most famous hole in Birmingham.  Update photography to be used in Construction News this week I believe.

10 Colmore Row brochure

After quite a lengthy renovation period, all the photography for 10 Colmore Row, Birmingham (in the heart of the Financial District) has now been completed, and is in a lovely brochure.

Crosby iLand

A recently published set of photographs of Crosby’s iLand development, along with some from their Hub development that I took recently.  Used in City Living 10 April.

Park Central Architecture

Next week marks the start of my return to Park Central in Birmingham.  A huge housing development in the heart of Birmingham, created by Crest Nicholson.

I have taken a series of external photographs (see above), but the new photography will focus on interiors of showhomes, as well as some of the large parks accompanying the scheme.

There has been quite a large addition of photographs to the Images of Birmingham Photo Library.  To see just the new additions, go to the Latest Images section.  The following are just some of the new architectural material. Prints can be ordered of any image on the library, right up to A2 size.

Longbridge Digger

A while ago I mentioned upgrading all the office PC’s and software, to offer new facilities to clients.  These ranged from instant web galleries for commissioned work, to easier manipulation of images – essentially I wanted to be able to provide an all in one (fast) service to my commercial customers – creating even more loyalty between us.  The more loyal we are to one another, the less likely they are to venture elsewhere for photography.

Based on the new ‘fast’ systems, the images are now starting to be published in a variety of ways.  For example, I have started work on the Longbridge regeneration site. For an ’arty’ image of a digger on site, representing a corporate client, the image was taken, manipulated, proofed and supplied online, all within a short period of time.  Today this was published as a ‘near’ double page spread in a Who’s Who in Construction.
