Digging out some cuttings during the process of moving both home and office, some were great coverage, some not so! The principle of ‘all publicity being good publicity’ doesn’t apply to photography. A couple of years back I travelled round New York for a short time, and one of the images I was after, was of the NY subway system. Each day I got some shots, but on the last day I was heading back to pack and saw a little old nun holding a stars and stripes handbag on the platform.
Using a rangefinder at the time, I managed two photos, but it is so dark down there (and using slow(ish) speed film) that I was only happy with this one. I also like the black and white version of this photo – but for gallery sales, I have stuck with the colour version (updated: I now sell both colour and black & white)

A new project is underway photographing Birmingham in black and white, which will culminate in a book next year. Here is one of the first images which is now available as a limited edition print in the Crowded Gallery.
There is also an RSS Feed from the Crowded Gallery which will let you know when new photographs are added to the gallery.
